"Fourteen-year-old Prue and her sister Grace have been at home by their controlling, super-strict father all their lives. Forced to wear Mum's odd hand-made garments and forbidden from reading teenage magazines, they know they're very different to 'normal girls'  but when Dad has a stroke and ends up in hospital, unable to move or speak, Prue suddenly discovers what it's like to have a little freedom.

Sent to a real school for the first time, Prue struggles to fit in. The only person she can talk to is her kindly, young – and handsome – art teacher, Rax. They quickly bond, and Prue feels more and more drawn to him. As her feelings grow stronger, she begins to realise that he might feel the same way about her. But nothing could ever happen between them – could it?"

this novel is sick! this is crazy. so rough outline breakdown, teen girl Prue and her art teacher has been involved in some crazy feelings problem. love and romance stuffs. and that is crazy! extremely crazy! it's dangerously weird for the both of them. why would people do such things? i mean, control your feelings(?) pls(?)

this was an easy read for me. however... the disturbing feelings it made me feel wasn't quite easy. imagine a man with children having feelings for you, a young girl in your early teenage years. isn't that just insane?! well, i read through the pages rather quickly since jacqueline wilson's writings are very easy to go through. the texts are also on big fonts so it was another factor making it an easy read. i like how jacqueline wilson pictures this story to the reader, i think it is written beautifully. it somehow showed factors of what happened with prue at home with her family that made her feel how she felt with her teacher. however, i do disagree on the closeness between a married man or woman with young teenagers especially since they are still very vulnerable.

i hate prue. i hate this character very much. she is very sensitive and is always upset, which i don't get why she is always upset at her sister. she really tried hard to fit in to her new school that she forgot to have her attitude with her. and forcing this crazy love story is just insanely unforgivable. having crushes here and there is totally fine, but forcing the relationship when knowing it isn't possible is just not understandable. plus, she is having a crush on a married man with two kids!!!

i love toby. toby is prue's friend that later has a mild crush on her. he has dyslexia and i think he is very sweet. i'd rather have prue be with toby. but no, i think toby is too good for prue. prue is just too stubborn for him.

"You're going to be the girl that makes my teaching worthwhile." -Mr. Raxberry

the quote above disturbed me in many ways. yes, he was just trying to comfort prue who was sad since her classmates verbally bullied her. however, this sentence then led on to giving prue a somewhat hope. this sentence built prue much confidence in her feelings.

about mr. raxberry or rax, i have a love-hate relationship with him. he seems to be a really fun teacher. still, i think sometimes he is being too friendly. and he is supposed to acknowledge his situation of being married and having kids. he isn't supposed to let prue know about his feelings. i do not agree that to be right. that was just a statement that led to complicated problems later on. throughout the book, he kept complimenting her here and there. and i think that is very disturbing. i believe he should actually be acted upon and face some serious problem.

"Is it because I look weird?" -Prue

prue has some self image problem. she wasn't confident with herself and how she looked. and having this person come into her life and complimented her for her 'unique' appearance flattered her. but she's supposed to know her position.

this book was a fun read. it was light but disturbing at the same time. i find myself laughing at this girl quite a number of times. i just can't comprehend how she thinks. the reading experience was very exciting. i kept wanting to know more what happens next to this crazy love story. jacqueline wilson writes this with a similar style to how she usually writes her children fiction, though i do not believe this is supposed to be for children. i believe her writing style made it an easy read. this book debates on moralities and gave me questions to feed my thoughts. i'd recommend this book if you'd like something light yet irritating at the same time :)
